Our aim is to be a strong, vibrant, safe and inclusive community where people work together to improve the quality of life for all.The Mid and East Antrim Climate and Sustainability Policy has given a commitment that Council will carry out its activities and functions in a manner which avoids potentially negative environmental impact and states that the principles of sustainable development will be fully considered throughout all activities.
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council is also committed to driving sustainable economic growth by supporting local communities, businesses and agriculture in transitioning to a circular economy and providing opportunities for the development of clean, green technologies in the area. This commitment is being delivered via a range of strategic projects which contribute to Net Zero targets and the continued development of the green economy, including projects in partnership with industry to support wider industrial decarbonisation of the area.’
Our Climate and Sustainability Action Plan (June 2023) has been developed to ensure the Council meets all legislative requirements set out in our Climate and Sustainability Policy and guides the actions which will help us to achieve a number of key climate targets.
